You're a happy parent, until you soon begin to understand that two parents who always agree on everything is a fairy tale you've believed for too long. Little by little you discover that behind a decision there was often a debate with your partner.
It's almost like a scene from a dramatic sitcom, where each episode focuses on the age-old question of homeschooling or traditional schooling. When we start to discuss our differing opinions, it's almost comical to witness the clash of perspectives. On one side, there is a parent who advocates rigorous structure and awareness, while the other advocates promoting creativity through hands-on activities. It is a clash between two powerful forces, reminiscent of a battle between Greek gods, rules, and freedom, where in the end even we parents lose the boundary between the two.
I often find myself in arguments with my husband over his habit of keeping his phone on the dinner table. While I understand he needs to have it for work sometimes, I can't help but feel it takes away from the importance of our family dinners and bonding time. My concern also extends to our son, as I worry it may normalize the behavior and make him expect the same privilege in the future. Sometimes It is so hard for me to find a compromise with my husband. 😫😫
